Stephens Avionics TechnicianThe standards for operating as a Stephens Avionics Technician in the Stephens flight department are extremely high and require a high level of technical experience and professionalism. To accomplish the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of all Stephens's aircraft requires the advanced knowledge of these aircraft, customarily acquired by prolonged courses of specialized intellectual instruction, which is maintained by attending specific training courses and requires the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and replacement of parts as necessary on the aircraft.Assist in ensuring all the aircraft are maintained in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Airworthiness Directives (AD), inspection programs and maintenance manuals.Accompany pilots on maintenance test flights to assist in identifying and correcting discrepancies.Responsible for opening computer generated maintenance work orders, CAMP cards, and logbook entries for inspections and discrepancies.Perform daily inspections on scheduled aircraft.Assist passengers, line service, and pilots with the departing and retrieval of aircraft as necessary.Must be able to travel on an as needed basis and short notice for the purpose of aircraft maintenance and or training.Maintain shop and hangar tools and equipment.Assist with cleaning of the facility and upkeep with regards to lights, water leaks, etc.Escort and assist building maintenance personal and contractors.Work in accordance with the Stephens Flight Operations Manual (FOM)Work in accordance with Stephens Investment Holdings, LLC FAA-approved Repair Station (S2IR312) Manual.Work flexible and varied shifts as dictated by aircraft flight schedules.Perform other tasks as assigned by management.Education And/Or ExperienceAssociate's degree in a related field.Graduate of FAA certified Airframe and or Powerplant course preferred.5+ years of extensive "hands-on" aircraft maintenance work on jet or other pressurized turbine-powered fixed-wing aircraft experience and/or training.Equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExcellent verbal, written and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to determine the appropriate action.Process management skills.Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with the ability to learn and utilize industry specific software as required.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Demonstrated reliability in attendance and work performance.A background of verifiable practical experience as an active maintenance technician while demonstrating the ability to manage and supervise people.Ability to assume responsibility for all direct supervision of Aircraft Maintenance Technician and line service personnel in the absence of the Director of Maintenance.Certifications, Licenses, And RegistrationsFAA Repairman License.Airframe & Powerplant Certificate desired.Must complete manufacturer's training in the appropriate aircraft systems, functions, avionics, and engines.Valid Arkansas Drivers LicenseRequired TestingMust be able to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) test to acquire airport security badge.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
